The Starving Activist is the sometimes-home for words. AR Neal (that’s me) finds them, cultivates them, and leaves them here. Enjoy.

Scribe's Cave Picture Prompt: One Way

I was out of breath. Nelson had lied, which was good: the depot had been much further than he'd drawn on the map. Had I known, I wouldn't have attempted something so insane. I had made it to the train that was closest to the depot and if I could stay on top, I could make it into the depot. If I made it into the depot, I probably could get to the power box. If I got to the power box... well, that would be it. That would be the end of my one-way trip. I'd flip the switches Nelson told me to and, unless he lied about that as well, the whole thing would go up like the bright lights of the old world. And if the whole thing went up, the ghouls would all burn.It was still a one-way trip if by some chance Nelson had lied or if he'd been wrong, but only worse: it would be a one-way trip for everyone left from the old world. So Nelson had better been telling the truth and I better make it because having the fate of everyone on my shoulders was just too big a burden.33.%20Cz%u0119stochowa%20Train%20Depot%20-%20Poland
