The Starving Activist is the sometimes-home for words. AR Neal (that’s me) finds them, cultivates them, and leaves them here. Enjoy.

Scribe's Cave Picture Prompt: New Light

We were almost there, having run for nearly four hours after hearing the reports: there was light and if we could reach it in time, the Hunters would not be able to capture us.Again.For centuries our people had been trying to escape the dark bondage of the Hunters, who kept us underground and afraid. Each generation had runners that searched for a way out. Finally, the time had come.I would not dare say it, but I was equally afraid of what awaited us up ahead.

Ringing in the new year is often a time of new starts and renewals. I hope my 88 words for this week's SCPP lend themselves to such an ideal. Click on the photo to visit the prompt and add your thoughts.
